Hi Juicers,
Happy Tuesday! There are loads of people who've started juice fasts in April or are juicing for the first time. I'm excited to see all the updates and how great everyone is doing, even over the Easter holiday.
A new location of The Juice Bar Dallas just opened up near where I work, so I decided to check them out yesterday. The Juice Bar Dallas has been around since 2012, and presses their juices in a Norwalk juicer. It looks super fancy and there is a picture of it on their website TheJuiceBarDallas.com . Aside from the more traditional juice blends, they also offer 2 selections of daily juice cleanses which are a variety of juices that replace 2 or 3 of your meals, depending which you choose.
To shake things up they also offer shots and boosts, with names like Hot Shot and Cider Bomb, who wouldn't want to give them a try? The Triple A is an anti-aging shot, and you can add chia seeds, hemp hearts, cacao nibs and a few other things to round out your juice selection.
On the wall are some healthy treats and snacks too. The raw chia pudding and homemade granola look tasty and everything seems to use very high quality ingredients.. You can definitely leave this place with more than a few things than what you came in for.

Now on to the taste test!
I tried the Skinny Greens, Beetle Juice, and the Hottie.

The Skinny Greens recipe lists cucumber, green apple, kale, spinach, lemon, ginger, and cayenne. I always find cucumber to be a little too grassy for my taste, but the lemon, ginger, and cayenne helped to blend the flavors. This was definitely geared more for seasoned juicers who are used to a more intense green juice. A casual juicer might not like this as much, or at least would probably switch it up with other juices more often. Tasty though, and strained to ensure you are just getting the juice.
The next was the Beetle Juice, with a blend of carrot, green apple, beet, and ginger. I don't know if the beets were grown in a tropical forest by gardening angels, or sung to every night, but they tasted amazing. Sometimes beets can be a little "woodsy" but this was my favorite of the three. Also looks great with a drink umbrella!
The last was the Hottie. Maybe it was all the cayenne, or the fact that I'd already drank two other juices, but I was feeling pretty hottie myself. Other than cayenne, it contained ginger, lemon, orange, and carrot. I was worried the cayenne might give me some awful acid reflux problems later on, but it didn't bother me at all. I really was shocked. I think the cayenne and my stomach must have had a talk and decided the cayenne was going to win, so my stomach didn't even put up a fight. I was worried this would also just be hot and not really taste great, but it was mildly tangy from the other ingredients with just a bit of heat. I polished it off with no problems.
The prices at Juice Bar Dallas are on par with all the other juice bars I've visited, which isn't to say it isn't still cheaper to juice yourself at home, but for the overall quality and taste it was a great find.
They have locations on Inwood near Forest lane, another at Lovers Lane and 75, and a new location coming soon at Northpark Mall.
Bottoms Up!
